Located by the scenic Flensborg Fjord, Cathrinesminde Brickworks offers you a unique museum experience.

Explore the original brickworks buildings, see the brick kiln, and walk through exhibitions that tell the story of brick production and the workers’ daily lives. The museum displays historic tools, machines, and personal stories that bring the industrial heritage to life.

Enjoy the peaceful natural surroundings, follow the paths around the site, and learn how the brickworks shaped the local area for centuries.

A historic
attraction

Cathrinesminde Brickworks is a well-preserved cultural environment and museum. Here, both children and adults can explore the history of brick-making by wandering through the authentic ring kiln, engaging exhibitions, and historic drying sheds. Feel the power of the past when the old brick-making machine roars into life, offering a glimpse into the sights and sounds of industrial production.

Step back in time into the recreated workmen’s lodgings and learn about life in the small community around the brickworks.

Head down to one of the drying sheds where an exciting maze awaits. Navigate your way through rows of original wooden shelves stacked with bricks left to dry. Sounds easy? Think again ‒ will you choose the right path, or end up at a dead end?
