Activities for the
whole family in
Museum Sønderjylland

What's on

Explore the rich culture and nature of Southern Jutland.

At Gram Clay Pit, the whole family can dig for 10‑million‑year‑old fossils – and at the museum you can see, among other things, the world’s largest megalodon vertebra and tooth.

Experience the dramatic history of Southern Jutland at Sønderborg Castle, where stories of war, reunification, and community unfold. Just a few kilometres away, you’ll find one of Denmark’s most important industrial heritage sites, Cathrinesminde Brickworks.

At Brundlund Castle and Art Museum, step into the colourful world of Franciska Clausen, while the museums in Tønder offer a unique collection of modernist art, local cultural history, and design by Hans J. Wegner.

To the west, Højer Mill rises in the marsh landscape. Here, you can take a break in the café in the miller’s house, known for its legendary “bread cake”.
You can also dive into the world of maritime history at Cultural History Aabenraa, or explore 10,000 years of history at Archaeology Haderslev.
All summer long, the museums offer activities for the whole family.

Tickets for the activities can be purchased at the museum on the day of the event.
